Thank you for your interest in Cruising World’s Adventure Charter to Greece.  Starting in historic Athens, we will sail by the Temple of Poseidon at Point Sounian and visit the sun-washed islands of the Aegean Sea, including Mykonos, renowned for its nightlife, and Delos, home of the “Lions of Delos” and sanctuary of Apollo.  This sail will cover about 340 miles.

We hope you will join us on yachts from Kiriacoulis to sail these fabled islands.  As only a small group can be accommodated, we urge you not to delay in signing on to come with us.

If you like awesome sailing, extraordinary food, and great drama, this voyage has it all. Like Odysseus of Greek mythology, we’ll sail from one legendary island, and one adventure, to another, visiting the exquisite Mykonos, Tinos, Santorini, Naxos, Ios, and more. We’ll wander through spectacular white-washed villages; take walks through picturesque groves of olive trees that have stood for two centuries; sail past the dramatic Temple of Poseidon; and explore some of the most important historical sites in the world – Delos, the Sanctuary of Apollo, Point Sounian, and open-air amphitheaters that have hosted Greek dramas for a thousand years.

This charter is perfect for those who love to cook, and for those who love to eat wonderful and healthy food. In Kea we’ll join award-winning and internationally renowned cookbook author Aglaia Kremezi in her own home, where she’ll give us private cooking lessons and a Greek feast.

We’ll stroll along the waterfront tavernas with the tantalizing aromas of lamb kebabs, fresh fish, and Greek delicacies roasting over hot coals; then give in to the passions of Greek dancing under the stars. This is the voyage of a lifetime…

Only on a sailboat flotilla can you have all this, mixed with the freedom and intimacy of your own chartered boat, and some of the best sailing in the world.

There will be enough time to see some of the sites of Athens before returning to the USA.

Your sailing résumé (and that of the back-up skipper) must be  acceptable to the charter company.  You will need to have a sailing certificate OR a letter from your yacht club for this purpose.

Boats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and we will try to book you on the boat of your choice. If you are unable to fill a boat yourself, we will do our best to find additional crew. In this case, we would ask you for some brief comments about yourself and your sailing background. Naturally, we will endeavor to make the best possible matches.  

PRICE:          $4050.00   per person, sharing. 

(Should there be a change in airfare or fewer than 24 participants, we reserve the right to make an adjustment to the price indicated above)

Trip Includes:

·         Round-trip air from JFK airport, New York and airport taxes

·         Cruising World staff member to accompany trip

Not Included:

·        Food (estimate about $25 per person per day)

·        Running expenses (fuel, water, port fees……approximately $250 per bareboat)

·        Gratuities for lead skipper

·        Security deposit for bareboats $400 (to be divided equally by the boat mates)

Cancellation:  All notices of cancellation must be in writing to King Yacht Charters, Inc.  No refund will be made for cancellations after July 1, 2008.
