"Aboard catamarans we'll explore Belize's amazing barrier reef - the longest in the Western Hemisphere.  For 10 days we'll sail, swim, and enjoy clear tropical waters within a rare Atlantic Ocean atoll teeming with coral and marine life. 

Set sail in the beautiful coral studded waters of the second largest barrier reef in the world.  There is nothing in the Caribbean that even comes close to the 180 mile long reef, which, when added to the atolls, provides 320 miles of coral reef.  This reef is estimated to be some 6500 years old and its topography is called spur and groove, meaning that there are coral ridges with flat sandy bottoms with overhangs and tunnels.  You should have plenty of opportunity to hone your piloting skills as we ‘read’ the startling changes in water color whilst negotiating safe passages through the coral.
